before my family and i moved to the other side of the world, we decided it would be fun to take a cross country road trip with the kids. at the time, i had a 2yo, 4yo, and 5yo. yes, i realize now that we were insane. but hindsight and all that.
feeling reminiscent today on facebook, i got one of those notices about what i posted three years ago. i’d recounted a game of “i spy” played somewhere in the middle of nowhere. seriously, there was nothing there other than sky, dirt, grass, and telephone poles, and corn fields. so this game was not all that exciting. so this happened:
2nd child (now referred to as 2C): i spy with my little eye something yellow.
guesses were: road lines, turn signal, road sign, reflector, dirt (hey, we were getting a bit desperate), somebody’s shirt, socks, trash…
2C: nope. it’s my imagination!
well, at least she got something from me.
